Unfortunately the loan officer failed to notice that the contracted appraisal was not done on time. I brought up the deficiency a week before closing. It then took almost a week to get the appraisal and another week to complete closing. Pennymac even failed to meet its own deadline extension. Instead of empathy the lender told me “it’s not my fault”. When I continually requested updates I got a lot of “I sent someone an email” which, considering the circumstances, was not proactive enough.
