My wife and I traveled to see Dr Ahlering from Nashville, TN. We were not pleased with the clinic we were with and had been told after 4 IUIs, 2 IVFs, and 1 frozen cycle that we could not have children with my wife's eggs. In one word...WOW! I found out about Dr. Ahlering from a parent of one of my students in my classroom who can thank Dr. A for her triplets. She shared with me about him as she knew of my IF and issues with my past RE here in Kansas City. We had a phone consult in January where he went over our options. After a terrible experience with my local ivf doc, I was so pleased with my initial phone consultation with Dr. Ahlering that I went ahead with his services even though I had to commute 4 hours to get to his office. Dr. Ahlering and his staff were unfailingly wonderful in all ways. Since in the first appointment,I was impressed with his down to earth personality and his knowledge.He was completely different than my previous "famous infertility doctor" in st Luke's hospital. Even I had 2 miscarriages I still trusted him and did not give up hope. I researched and asked him all the questions I had. Dr. Ahlering and his staff at SIRM helped us successfully have a baby after trying for 5 years. He has more knowledge than your average RE and is flexible to try things others will not (intralipids, for example). I am convinced that because of this approach, my husband and I were able to welcome our daughter into this world just 1 week ago. Thanks Dr. Ahlering! We'll be back if we decide to try for #2!
Dr. Ahlering and his staff at SIRM-St. Louis are absolutely incredible! The level of treatment my husband and I received during our two years with them was simply exceptional. E-mails were always answered in a timely manner, and there was always a smiling face behind the counter or a friendly tone of voice on the other end of the line. Excellent Doctor! The inital consultation was free and we were able to do it over the phone because of the distance. Before Dr. Ahlering we tried various meds and IUI's for 5 years. We are now pregnant with twin boys after only 1 round of IVF with Dr. Ahlering. I only wish we had gone to him sooner.
Dr Ahlering and his staff are a wonderful group to work with. We had been trying for a baby unsuccessfully for over three years when my doctor referred me to SIRM. Infertility and the treatment for it can be very challenging but the staff at SIRM made it much easier. They were always there to answer questions by phone or email.
