Probably because of the old black-and-white photos of Phoenix that cover the walls or the ease with which the patrons settle in for a casual meal or a drink at the bar. It had been a while since I last visited Phoenix City Grille. The food did not disappoint. We had several different items (bacon wrapped shrimp, salmon, soup, sandwich, shrimp/rice dish) and everyone enjoyed their meal. I felt the bacon on the shrimp was a tad overcooked, but I'm being picky on this as the appetizer still tasted good. Our server was outstanding! I would gladly return.
The place was nice and quaint. I had the Chef salad and the portion was huge. The blue cheese dressing was amazing. I would have taken more chicken over the large cubes of ham but overall it was very, very tasty.
Great service and food. The halibut was amazing. Would defiantly recommend this restaurant.
The halibut special was the best that either of us had ever experienced! Our server was an intern working his first day, but he was terrific. We had a delightful dinner.
