About this business

RestaurantsAmerican

This friendly neighborhood hangout feels like it's been around for much longer than it has. Probably because of the old black-and-white photos of Phoenix that cover the walls or the ease with which the patrons settle in for a casual meal or a drink at the bar. Whatever the reason, you will feel comfortable and welcome here. The menu features large portions of all-American mains with Southwestern twists. Pizzas and light bites perfectly complement a glass of wine, beer or cocktail from the bar.

We enjoyed our first trip to the Phoenix City Grille. We were early (5pm) since we had my Mother with us for an early dinner. We were treated great and enjoyed two examples of good customer service. When my Mother accidentally ordered regular Zinfandel wine vs. the 'pink' white Zinfandel I offered to drink the regular one even though I mentioned I was going to get a white to go with my pork. When our bill showed up they had taken the original wine off. We were also treated to a free desert since we had mentioned it was our f... read more

First of all I was grateful we were able to get a dinner reservation for New Years Eve dinner on just a couple days notice - big plus! The dinner was awesome and the staff couldn't be better. Only my third time here because I live in Avondale, and it's quite a trek to get here, but going to make it a point to come here more often. Thanks!

PCG is casual and comfortable and provides delicious food in generous portions. The burgers were big, thick, juicy and properly prepared on a nice bun. The taco starter was terrific, with excellent tomatillo sauce. I found the corn bread starter very sweet, but my husband, like everyone else, loved it. We also liked our salads, large and fresh. Our waiter was attentive and professional. Altogether a very satisfying experience.

I went for the first time with my mother but I will return with my husband for date night. The menu was diverse, the food was excellent and the ambiance was perfect. The service could have been better. Our waitress seemed a bit put off by us. She never mentioned her name and she only checked on us once. The bill was brought to our table and picked up with out any comments or gestures. Still, I would return for all the other reasons.

New Years Eve 2014, dinner at 4:15 out by 5:00, we each had a slice of green chile sweet cornbread 1.50, the short rib roast was amazing 24.00, the place gas horseradish mashed potatoes on everything. I loved them. My husband got butternut squash polenta instead of the potatoes. He loved it. We will be back to try the pork loin next.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The owner is always there, the food is always good and a variety from Soup to entrees, reasonable prices, nice ambiance and fantastic service. They take reservations also. This place will not disappoint. One of the best brunches on Saturday and Sunday.

We were in Phoenix for an overnight on Jan 1st, 2015. The 4 of us decided on the Phoenix City Grille based on the web reviews and were not disappointed. Everything about the place was great. The services was friendly and the food was excellent. It is a really good place!
