The receptionist was VERY unprofessional when I tried to get answers for my dog, when she was ill. Wouldn't even let us come in to see a vet tech, because, unfortunately, between unemployment issues for me, early this year, and lack of open appointments, I had to reschedule a few times, so my Dog wasn't up to date on her immunizations.Had to call back, several times, to get a different receptionist, talk with Dr. Megan, about what was going on, etc. Because of this receptionist, my dog and I weren't treated with the respect ... read more
Rude on the phone and if you need an appointment within the next 2 months you aren't going to get it. I called today next appointment for an ill pet was mid May. We are moving to a different clinic they are over loaded, under staffed and not able to meet the needs of their clients.
We've used Community (now Point Area Veterinary) as our back-up vet for many years, and were always pleased and happy with their services. But recently, after four separate incidents of trying to get our dogs in for urgent issues like wounds needing stitching, swelling due to cellulitis, pain control for cellulitis infection, the clinic has turned us away in every instance - even though our calls for help were during regular office hours. I'm sad to have to leave this review. We've used Community (now Point Area Veterinary) as our back-up vet for many many years. We love certain staff members and Dr. Megan is great, however we have had four minor need to be seen that day type scenarios, and the front desk staff would not work to help or fit us in in any circumstance. Once was a bad swelling which ended up being cellulitis, during regular vet clinic hours. Two others were for wound stitching, during regular hours. Back around 2011 or so, my mom called ahead to Community to schedule an appt for the family cat, Maxx. She had to work, so I was tasked with taking him to his appointment, and since she was the responsible paying party, she had explicit instructions added to the account stating that for any and all tests being done outside of the exam room, she must be called and give verbal consent to the tests. Such a sad day for all of us. I cannot share enough the lack of empathy and unprofessionalism exhibited by the veterinarian, vet techs, and administrative staff at the Community Animal Hospital 🏥 as my daughter’s dog passed away this week. If your pet is ill, avoid this garbage trash 🗑 facility like the plague.

Terrible. Took our dog there last year and the computer system was down so they couldn’t run our credit card. We never received a bill from them in the mail and they sent it to collections. We called and told them we wanted to make sure that no payment had been applied (since we gave them our credit card info!) and once we had that info we would pay them or send proof of payment. October 2019 our dog needed ACL . On the day of the scheduled surgery, my husband took the day off of work due to the fact that we live an hour away one way. As my husband got to Stevens Point, he received a call. He was told the surgery needed to be rescheduled because someone did not order the correct items to perform the surgery. As a result, he had to turn around and drive another hour home, and I had to take 4 hours off another day in order to take my dog to the rescheduled appointment.
