Works as designed - this is the second I've owned ... Works as designed - this is the second I've owned and my only issue is how long it lasts. After about 4 years, the bearings started to go making a loud noise, but the pump continued to work. Finally it burned out and I replaced it. Amazon price is much more reasonable than any pool store.
