Our most popular automatic pool cleaner The Polaris Vac-Sweep 280 pressure-side pool cleaner works in all in-ground pools and requires a booster pump. It is powered by double jets, providing greater vacuum power and faster cleaning (3 hours or less). The Polaris 280 easily connects to a dedicated pressure line and sweeps, scrubs, and vacuums all surfaces of the pool. The pressure cleaner is equipped with a single chamber filter bag where it captures large debris such as leaves, acorns, pebbles, and other small to large debri... read more
Wonderful Best pool cleaner ever. It cleaned our pool very quickly and has looked beautiful ever since. The best money spent.
Polaris 360 Best pressure side pool cleaner for the money. That is what other reviews in other websites said and that has been my experience over 3 years. Once in a blue moon it will get its sweep tail stuck in its vacuum port (and then we simply pull it out), otherwise, no problems.
Seems to be more reliable than a Phantom We owned a Phantom for a few years but it started breaking frequently. The Phantom seemed to clean more thoroughly but the Polaris seems to be more reliable and easier to repair. The Phantom also would get tangled in it's hose often (mostly because it cleaned the surface). The Polaris seems far less likely to get tangled up.
Polaris 280 -- works great, delivered quicker than I expected We just had a pool built, made sure to have a booster pump included, and got a great deal on the Polaris 280 through Amazon. I'm very pleased with this pool cleaner, and the price was very good. No complaints whatsoever.
As good as it has been for the past 10 years I had to replace my old Polaris 180. I used it for 10 years and it was already over 8 years old when I bought the house. The 280 cleans the pool very well with minimum maintenance. I put a 12 inches nylon sock (6 for $1.00 at the dollar store) over the exit going inside the bag and change it every 3-4 weeeks. This way I do not have to clean the bag. The 280 has an easy to handle bag, a wider suction mouth and the back flow device to move it from places to places in the pool every ... read more
Great purchase! Had a Hayward since pool was put in ~3 years ago. Was plagued with problems, everything from pump failures to plastic clips breaking to getting tangled. For two years I had a bungee cord keeping it together. Then the Hayward ... snap to change out (am using same pump), in two months had not gotten stuck; picks up even the smallest debris, very easy to empty the bag. Great purchase.
Just as promised After receiveing the $85 quote to repair my aging Polaris cleaner I knew it was time for a new one. With all the incentives on the 380 or 3900 I was going to go with the 380 which was actually cheaper (after incentives) than the 280 but I started asking around - mostly pool professionals - and all (8 for 8) recommeneded the 280 even if the price were higher. We are happy with the purchase and I was able to save over $100 by buying off Amazon vs. any retail store. There were a few other online sites where it ... read more
Best pool cleaner I have tried a number of pool cleaners. Kreepy Krauly was worthless - gets stuck in corners, wears out your pump faster because of its action, gets clogged easily. Dolphin - biggest waste of money I've ever seen, don't get me started. My neighbor has the Polaris 360 that works off the return line - he hates it, these "Lo-pressure" cleaners do not work well. So when I drained my pool to have it replastered, I decided to install a booster pump and new line so that I could have a Polaris 280. Best decision I e... read more
Like a Mac-It Just Works I replaced a 5 year old Letro Legend that was way past its time. The Polaris 280 is very easy to assemble and adjust to different pool environments. I am quite pleased with the transaction via Amazon.
