Polaris Pool Cleaner This is an excellent product. Construction is good and the product performs to 100% of my expectations. As an aside, this the third Palaris I have purchased over the years.
Better than Hayward for sure I tried two different Hayward pool cleaners. Both were a big failure. This Polaris 280 works great. Once you get it adjusted to your pool and get the pressures set, it runs around just like it is supposed to (what a concept) Setup was very easy, getting it running in the pool is easy, and unloading the leaf bag is easy. I'll report back after I see if it lasts for a few seasons. It is simple in design so I don't expect problems.
Tricky at first but works really well now This is my first pool vacuum and I took the recommendation of my local pool store, who also built the pool in the first place, because I figured they were the experts. They installed the 380 with booster pump and set it up for around 100 bucks and, given the work they did, I would say that's a bargain. Total cost, including tax, was $1107. No pool boy needed with this robot! I just purchased my second Polaris 280. My first is still running but not as strong as when I first purchased it. However the thing works great. It does a nice job of stirring things up if it so the filter has a chance to work. The one thing they don't tell you is they also sell these in black and while the first one I got with my pool was white, I have a a black gunite pool and it makes sense to have a black one.
