Great space and well worth the 45-minute drive for an elevated departure from the what is a somewhat monotonous Rochester culinary scene. Staff was mostly very professional, though our server could have been slightly more polished and knowledgable (he was very friendly and attentive however). Decent selection. I had lam chops and they were cooked perfectly. Veal chop also very good, Chicken Piccata was nicely done but way too salty (maybe prep chef does not know that capers are usually packed in brine!), creamed spinach could have been, in my opinion, rated as superb, BUT once again way to salty, Broccolini; too salty. I would try Portico again but would tell server NO SALT ON ANYTHING> Salt, if needed, can be added at the table!
Menu selection was very good. We had the Rigatoni Carbonara as an Appetizer with the grilled Octopus ! It was Excellent. My friend ordered the Bone-In Veal Milanese ! Never seen anything like it before .A little expensive but fantastic! I ordered the Branzino which was small in the portion size for $25 but tasty.
We celebrated our 10th anniversary in the Finger Lakes and had a wonderful dinner at Portico our first night. The restaurant is located right in the casino of the De Lago Casino, but the noise didn't travel into the dining area. It was quiet and romantic with just the right amount of light. Always a great experience at Portico.. me and my wife split a Tomahawk Ribeye which was on special that night.. it was amazing mouth watering even.. never had a bad meal here after 4+ visits
Staff and Food a 10 Best. Our waitress Kelsey is the best. Manager Jackie is so very nice.
We eat at many fine dining establishments with excellent chefs including Jose Garces and Rick Moonen. While Fabio may have only finished fourth on Top Chef, but he is #1 on our list. For a casino restaurant located near the NY Finger Lakes, the restaurant was amazingly quiet. We very enjoyed the Sunday Brunch buffet. There were many upscale choices such as shrimp, clams, cold water lobster, oyster, charcuterie and eggs benedict. There was a dessert room filled with many delicious choices. Everything was very tasty. There was live music to add to the elegant atmosphere.
