I really appreciate the ease of access to the virtual visits, however the provider I was seen by gave me incorrect medical information. I am a pharmacist and have the same fundamental knowledge of disease pathways as any other medical provider. As providers, it’s absolutely not our job to know everything about everything all the time. But it is our job to listen and pay attention and know when to fact-check ourselves - and to not be afraid to admit when we’re wrong or don’t know something. I joined at 11:00, 10 minutes prior to my start time (11:10am) and a provider did not join until almost 15 minutes after. She was welcoming and asked what was going on. While telling her my symptoms, I also I asked what could be causing multiple tooth abscess as the last two teeth I’ve had work on both became infected. NP Cady Kerr refused to treat me for a recurrent issue (ear infection) that needed simple antibiotics. I was told I’d have to come into the physical office, which is not what I wanted to do. I chose telemedicine for a reason, so as not to get more sick as there are the flu and other illnesses going around, which I could easily pick up in the doctor’s office. It wasn’t necessary to send me in.
