I went for my cleaning appointment today (as an existing longtime patient). When I got there, I was told that my insurance was suddenly out of network. Which didn't make a whiff of difference, as I have the buy-up DPPO Advantage plan that gives me the same coverage anywhere. I was then told I'd need to pre-pay $450+ for my routine cleaning. I asked what I would be responsible for given that I was out of network, and after doing some "math" with the other woman at the front desk, she said my portion would be well over $200.
