Had an ok time. Server was good. Restaurant was clean. But I ordered a steak medium. It came out past well done. Asked to have it refired. Second one came out under medium rare and had about 6 ounces of tough chewy fat. Ate what I could but was not impressed. Starter side and scallops were fine. Steak was not.
We were underwhelmed by our experience at Provision. The food is good, but from the outset none of the staff made much of an effort to make us feel welcome. We prefer not to sit out in the middle of everything but were made to believe clearly open tables at the edges of the room were not available to us and given weak excuses for why this was the case. Food was excellent. Portion size was small for the price. Service was nonexistent. Waiter never even asked us if our food was OK or how we were doing.
Got seated right away. Place was clean, smelled good and looked very nice. Food wait was over an hour. No one came and checked on us and updated us on why we was waiting so long. Plenty of empty tables around us. Almost got up and left. Then got our food and it was just ok. Definitely not worth the price. Won’t be returning
It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great ... overpriced & heavy is how I would describe the short ribs. My friend had the snapper ... also, just okay. It wasn't seasoned at all & of course, no salt/pepper on the table. It came with 3 asparagus ... It was overall good as usual. Although we ordered a “shareable” appetizer of fried green tomatoes. We were 4 people. I was shocked to see only 2 small slices of tomato, which we gingerly cut in half to share. And it was $13! I am used to the rules of nouvelle cuisine but our server should have warned us about how small this dish was. I am only sorry that I didn’t send it back.
Not good. Had to send 2 steaks to be recooked. One came out okay but the other was terrible. Unfortunately, the inedible steak was the person celebrating a birthday. He went home hungry! We most likely will not return.
Always enjoy Cunningham restaurants. But the noise level was too much. I was with older people who had difficulty hearing. Will think twice about who I take.
The service was very good. The quality of the food was good. The serving portions and pricing for those portions were horrible. The Provisions folks should be embarrassed and ashamed. $35 for three small scallops? $28 for a very small piece of fish? Really? And, the scallops and fish had nothing else on the place--no risotto, no veggies, etc. Really disappointing. Won't be back. Too many great restaurants in Indy that offer better food and a whole lot better value.
