I took my cat in because I thought he had a blockage, turns out he had a blockage and I had 10 minutes to decide whether to euthanize him or let somebody take over the payment of his treatment and let them adopt him when he was done. they did not offer me any sort of option as in a payment plan or any of that. and my mother offered to pay the bill, but I had surrendered him and they wanted him. I would like to thank them for the compassion that they did give to me, by letting me give his favorite blanket and a no to the new ... read more

PRUYN’s over priced and they need to change the name because it’s under new ownership plus the veterinarian are not the same. It’s about the $$$$$$ not about the animals This is a horrible place to take your animals

they didnt ask to give him penut better and he cant have any

Business response:

Akita, thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about this issue. We often use peanut butter as a fear free technique to make your pet's visit more pleasant and to reduce their stress level during an examination. When pets are less stressed, we are able to provide better care. You can imagine our disappointment upon reviewing Loki's check in sheet that we were not notified of his dietary restrictions or any allergies. Our front office manager was happy to have spoken with you after Loki's visit so you can im... read more

The new management should be ashamed of keeping the "Pruyn Veterinary" name, as they progressively moved away from being a compassionate, care oriented hospital to a "run-of-the-mill" cooperate shot clinic. This has culminated with the forcing out or Dr. Card the last remaining veterinarian from the original staff. Dr Card was forced out after 32 years due to conflict with management. This conflict was over her inability to accept the lower standard of care that was being forced on her. As Dr. Card leaves, she is taking wit... read more

I decided to give Pruyn once more chance. I called to schedule urgent treatment for my parakeet with Dr. Shoni Card. I was told, sadly, that she was no longer at this practice, but they had someone else who treated birds. After waiting nearly 15 minutes on hold, I was told the other doctor was in a procedure and they would call me back. I never received a call back. I'd suggest trying Eastgate Vet (Dr. Klietz) or Southgate Vet (Dr. Thompson) for exotic pets.

Business response:

Diana, we know your time is valuable and can assure you we make every effort to return phone calls in a timely manner. Dr. Wooten is our excellent in-house exotic doctor and we will be reaching out asap to see if we can get Lily in to see him.

Saddened to hear Dr. Card is no longer with Pruyn. Have been driving 5 hours to bring my dog to see her for the last 6 months. I found Dr. Card to be brilliant, compassionate and just a great person who loves taking care of animals. When I called to get test results about my pet I was given the run around by numerous people. It’s sad that a practice would not appreciate the value of a doctor of Shoni Card’s years of dedicated expertise. I will drive as far as I need to for Dr. Card to take care of my pet. Sounds like fr... read more

Having just heard that Dr. Card is no longer practicing at this clinic I am forced to pen a review as I want to ensure anyone who may see any of my prior comments knows that they are no longer appropriate. On multiple occasions I have driven over 4.5 hours from where I live to visit Dr Card for my dog. She is gentle, kind, extremely knowledgeable, professional and above all else ethical. Any practice that she no longer feels comfortable remaining in, is one you should avoid at all costs. I will certainly drive 4.5 hours i... read more

Dr. Card has cared for our dogs and cats for a few years now. She is the reason we stayed at Pruyn in spite of a host of issues with their new management. Unfortunately, Dr. Card had to choose between delivering quality care or staying at Pruyn -- she is now gone and so are we.

Business response:

Kim, we take your feedback seriously and would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your concerns in more detail. Unfortunately, the only account we found under your name has not had any activity in recent years, so we kindly ask that you give us a call at your convenience.
