My only criticism is the food wasn't that good. My father was in memory care and for him it was hard to eat. The staff was awesome and very helpful but there were few activities so a lot of time to do nothing.

Upon moving a family member in here I was so excited as I thought I found the perfect place for them. Very quickly I started to realize the staff here is not equipped or trained to care for Dementia residents. Please be warmed if your loved one has any behavioral issues associated with Dementia this is definitely not the place for them. My loved one sustained injuries and bruises here that were unexplained. We are limited to what we can share on this situation due to health privacy laws, but we can say that your loved one was experiencing health and physical difficulties where emergency services needed to be contacted. Unfortunately the people we spoke with did not seem to have a lot of knowledge regarding the services and costs and kept telling us to call XX person. The facility itself looked nice but based on the tour, we were worried about services.
I was so thrilled to initially found this facility for a loved one. Everyone seemed so nice and I was thrilled with the level of care I was inially promised. Things went down hill very quickly once my loved one moved in. I realized what you are promised prior to signing the lease as far as daily care is not actually done. They have since moved out. Well, I would say most of the people that made me feel comfortable in choosing this were extremely friendly, happy and attentive. But unfortunately, it seems like there's a lot of turnover in this industry and now most of them are gone, so I really didn't know how to answer the question. I'm not saying that the new ones aren't as pleasant and share the same qualities, but the turnover is difficult for the residents and the residence family members.

My husband would have benefited from more stimulation. He was mentally alert with all his facilities but physically totally dependent. The staff were wonderful, so kind and caring. But he was in the memory care unit because of his level of care. Sitting in front of the constant TV with severely dementia patients wasn't the answer. The unit itself was originally very dark and drab but it was receiving a makeover which could only help. There needed to be more activities, gatherings in the patio areas, music activities etc.

From our perspective, it's seems that information isn't always offered directly. So we had ask many questions on basic information. So it felt like once the money was paid, we were on our own except when they raise the rent. That's happened three times in a year. The memory care staff has been great. But the office staff is non existent. I'd still recommended it, but with warnings.
We toured Pacifica Senior Living Rancho Penasquitos during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one and we did not like the facility. It felt like an old hospital. Definitely not what we were looking for in a facility for our loved one.

You may be interested in knowing that our community is currently going through a full renovation in the Assisted Living and Memory Care neighborhoods. So you might consider taking another tour in the new year.
It's an older facility, which is fairly clean. There has been alot of changes in staff. The people that I have interacted with are friendly. They are lacking with the care services, and they don't have enough staff. Taking things forever to get done, in the quality of care that we were expecting. The cleaning people are kind, and are always smiling. The activities have been lacking, because they just got a new activities director. Overall, not happy.
