First visit and loved everything from ambiance to food/drink selection and quality to waitstaff. Thank you for a beautiful night!
Love the Sandbar the food is incredible and the service is wonderful. Can’t wait to go again
We were seated for our dinner reservation within 2 minutes of arriving. The waiter was very professional in presentation of the specials and made note of the menu being just revised to reflect the summer season. We ordered wagyu pigs in a blanket- delicious; steamed mussels were very tender with a wonderful broth for dipping their great bread; halibut seemed like it just was caught-so fresh; Turkey burger with Tuscan fries. Two martinis and strawberry shortcake for dessert. A solid 10!
Everything quite good with few exceptions. Sweet lemon sauce on the halibut was off putting and ruined the perfectly cooked delicious fish. Outside dining service extremely slow. This was not waitstaffs fault. It seemed all the staff was excellent, attentive and dealing with an overwhelmed kitchen. Took over 1 1/4 hours for entrees to arrive. Unfortunately we were seated next to two entitled woman with friends/family who had drank too much and were loud and obnoxious.
During a previous dinner at Sandbar, we were speaking with James, the owner, about caviar and that few restaurants on LI offer it. James graciously offered to get us some if we gave him a few days notice. So we told him we’d be back for dinner in a few days. True to his word, he provided us with two servings each of caviar as an appetizer, with all the accoutrements. It was fabulous!!! This is among the many reasons we go to Sandbar. The food is great, the staff is friendly, and the bartenders are skilled and fun to converse... read more
Food was delicious! We will be back for more!
Ambiance is great, but service was slow on the night we were there.
Food is just run of the mill especially the vegetables are frozen carrots and peas. They lost grip in overall quality .
Overall this was a great visit. I removed a star for a few reasons - the restaurant wasn’t very busy but it felt like the food took a long time to come out, the food was very good (not great - we had the lobster Benedict, power bowl and pigs in a blanket), and the prices felt higher than most places (and I live in NYC). Our waitress was incredibly sweet and the place was gorgeous.
