I've tried other vets in the area and was lucky to find SCPH, although I don't want to spread the word really because then that would mean my secret place wouldn't be so secret. Thanks to Dr Piert and staff for taking such good care of my fur babies.

We just had to have dental work for our doggie Scottie, which was major, but the team there made sure he was taken care of and sent medication home with him. He is feeling so better already. The whole Eldridge clan was put on a weight management diet and it was suggested that I purchase Saity (sp). Expensive, yes, but one of my doggies that was just examined for an ear inflection (second round) had lost two pounds! They have an app (SCPH) that gives you all the information about your pet and even has a place where you ca... read more

Dr. Piert has taken excellent care of my senior cat and and senior dogs and really made a dramatic difference in their quality of life. He is easy to chat with, provides options, recommendations, and is up front about pricing. He knows about the best drugs and treatments and I am beyond grateful. My senior dog was such a hobbeldey- boo and now she can enjoy her off leash hikes and not suffer afterwards. Thank you Santa Clara Pet Hospital!!

Business response:

My apologies for your sticker shock. Unfortunately everything in Silicon Valley is expensive including veterinary care. Yes, we do recommend the influenza vaccine since we had an outbreak last year that cause significant issues for a large number of dogs in the area, and since one of your dogs had been vaccinated for it I thought it was appropriate for both dogs. Personally I do pay to have an annual influenza vaccine and given the current situation I would be ecstatic to pay $$$ for a COVID 19 vaccine if one was available. ... read more

TL;DR - If you have a puppy with persistent Giardia and the traditional meds (Panacur/Metronidazole) aren't working, come see Dr. Lawrence. :) ----------------------------------------------- I brought my new puppy here after 4 failed rounds of Panacur/Metronidazole + 1 attempted round of Drontal Plus from a different vet to treat persistent Giardia. None of the Panacur/Metronidazole rounds had even the slightest impact on her level of infection (she kept measuring at 50+ cysts post-treatment) and just one dose of the Dront... read more

Excellent. Our dog has been treating with Dr. Lawrence and team since he was a puppy. The team there is amazing. Buster is very fussy and they get it.

We have been taking our cats to see Dr. Lawrence and Dr.Piert over the past 10 years. We started taking them to a closer vet when we moved a few years ago, but then came back to this pet hospital during the pandemic. We are grateful for the responsiveness and attention of the staff at this clinic. Today we had to finally say goodbye to our 17 year old cat after months of illness. While I didn't think I would be happy about any of this, I am relieved that Dr. Piert has been so helpful throughout the last few weeks with Smoke... read more

I take my babies Apollo and Onyx here. I will never go to another vet unless there is absolutely no choice. SCPH has the most amazing team you could ask for. They are caring and knowledgeable and make you feel welcome and comfortable. Additionally, my babies are always happy going in and coming out of the office. This is a big deal to me because there have been vets in the past that my dogs were terrified of and made it obvious that they weren't happy. SCPH is 100% the best pet health care facility in the Bay Area.

I have been going here since early 2000's. I have had dogs, cats, rats, a parrot and referred many other kinds of pet owners, from lizards to chickens. They know their stuff. They don't do tests needlessly and keep me informed at every turn as to what my options are and what each choices likely out cones are. Heck, they even indulged me with what was in essence rat chemo for a dearly loved pet I just wasn't ready to let go and had the money to fight the cancer with out diminishing it's quality of life. We had and extra year ... read more
