There were highlights for this meal for sure. The server was excellent, finding the right mix of attentive service without being intrusive. The bread before the meal melted in your mouth. The crème brulee was among the best we've ever had as was the espresso. But the reason you go to a restaurant is the main course. My grouper was just ok. Food was very good. Live music. Needed more wait staff. Server was just okay, not much personality. Beautiful setting.
We made reservations on-line for 8:30 but arrived early at 8 and our table was ready. We were seated outside on the wrap-around deck, right at the corner, which provided a nice view in both directions, not to mention the good breeze. Our waiter arrived immediately and brought very good hushpuppies. We ordered an appetizer of Shrimp and grits that was pretty good, but not great, but the shrimp (4) were large. As for the good fine for us. This was a special evening out from my wife and I and we had a wonderful time. The food was great, the service is great, and the view is great as well. We will be back.
We went to Ela's on the advice of a friend. It was a very good dining experience. The location, next to a marina is beautiful. Many people reserve outdoor seating but we did not. Not a big deal for us. The food was very good...reasonable portions...not gigantic if that's your thing. The service was friendly, timely and thoughtful like soda refills for our son. Definitely will go back.
We sat in the bar and it was a lovely experience. The waiter was super accommodating to my son with special needs and the food was excellent. A great water view too!!
When i reserved, I tld Open Table that it was our 25th anniversary and wanted a table by the window overlooking the harbor. They didn't disappoint us! Lovely banquette, by the window, overlooking the harbor! They even gave us a complimentary dessert to share! Wait staff was effecient and not intrusive. The lobster was one of the best ever! A bit pricey, but well worth it.
Although we had reservations over 24 hours in advance, we were seated against a wall with no view while other scenic tables went empty. We asked to be moved, but were told they had been reserved. That's why they were empty? We also received no greeting or even water service for almost fifteen minutes. My husband had to seek out a server. The food was very good, but slow. We had told our friends how much they would enjoy Ela's, but it was not as nice as expected, especially for a higher priced restaurant.
This was our second time at Ela's. The first visit was amazing and more than we ever expected. This visit not so much. Service was great. Scenery was great. Wine was great. Food was below par by far. For apps we got oyster rockafeller with a glass of bubbly. We only received four oysters. We thought for sure we would get at least six like most places serves.
