Poorly trained waiter. Noise level very high - could not readily communicate with table mate. Fare well presented but a bit over priced. Nice views of the harbor.
Was some of the best food I have eaten whilst in Hilton head.. My window seat over looking the bay was great. My waiter we fabulous

Very enjoyable dinner experience with my wife. We spend 4 weeks at HHI every spring and Ella's is on our must do list. It was a wonderful last night experience, food was excellent with great service. Can't wait to go back!
Located on the second floor of the Shelter Cove Marina complex Ela's offers great views of Shelter Cove from most all of the tables. We were able to get a table for 2 right next to the window. Live music which was played at just the right volume so you could still carry on a conversation. Meals were excellent and server did a very good job of checking on our needs.
My experience at this restaurant was equal to the reviews cited. These reviews were in fact one of the reasons for my reservation. The food was simple but excellent and in fact even the next day the fish was still fantastic indicating to me it had not been over cooked. As expected, the view was wonderful whether dining inside or outside. I should say however that the oyster factory has a comparable if not better view. This will remain on one of my top Hilton head seafood lists.
Really enjoyed our dinner. The table we sat at had a great view and the food was delicious as usual. It was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday.
This was our second time dining at Ela's. We visit Hilton Head every spring and we liked Ela's in 2014 however this year we were not impressed. Our waiter was a slow and had a sloppy demeanor. The food was not impressive either. The filet was cooked to the correct temperature but had a distasteful char ( burnt) taste on the outside. The soft shell crab was greasy and fried and the trout had so much sauce on it the flavor of the fish was overpowered. We went to Ela's based on a mention in a travel magazine. Found the food good but just not great. Certainly for the price point, I expected it to be better than it was. Sorry but this is how our entire family of four felt. There re better places to go to on the Island and you may even pay less.
