This restaurant is a gem, our new favorite on Hlton Head Island. The interior is beautiful with nicely spaced tables and wonderful views of the water from every table. Outside seating is available. We did not experience excessive noise, which other reviewers have commented about. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with food tips. Finally, the food was simply fabulous. This was our second time there and both times it was outstanding! They had live music this time and we danced until the end! What a great place! It's a wonderful place to take out of town guests and the service, food and view are all spectacular!
Upon arriving at the restaurant we were immediately led to a nice table with an outstanding view of the inlet to Shelter Cove. We were served by Michelle who was great, and when we asked for wine advice she had Ken, the manager, assist us with an excellent “off-list” Pinot Noir that suited our palate and price point. Well we went to Ela's not knowing it was the old ocean rest. The view is still terrific!! Our food was okay. I ordered the grouper which came with a lobster (sauce) the sauce was also the same at my (soup)lobster bisque. I wish the server would have said it would be the same. why have it twice.My children ordered the filet mignon which was very good and the menue. If would go for a special occasion again.

Maitre'd had selected a beautiful spot on the veranda overlooking the Shelter Cove Marina. Server was casual and friendly, which made for a relaxed evening. We enjoyed the house sangria. Fish was beautifully cooked with a papaya salsa sauce and complimented by an unusual, but tasty risotto with cranberries. A little pricey for every day dining, but good for a special occasion.
Fantastic!! We were looking for something new in Hilton Head and Ela's was the spot!! Beautiful views and outside seating over looking Shelter Cove. Great wine list and the Scallops were amazing!!! In fact, we had such a wonderful night we took friends back 2 days later and had even a better time!! The bar had a fantastic vibe Saturday night with Dean St Hillaire...he was an incredible one man band!! We will definitely go back and give it a big 2 thumbs up!!!
Great spot with beautiful views. Great food and service at reasonable prices.
