Docks are nice floating aluminum docks in a very sheltered harbor! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very attractive location with access to lots to do. Only reasons for less than 5 - low tides we bottomed out in the slip (as did others) and for half the marina ots a LOOOOONG walk to the showers and laundry - but the free bikes helped! Also, car access for loading or unloading was a pain.
Wonderful place to sty on Hilton Head Island. The Staff and the Harbor Master are very nice and accommodating.

We come to Shelter Cove often and always at amazed all the marina staff are so wonderful.
Excellent location (protected from wind and current) with great options for restaurants, central to HHI. Docks in good condition, surroundings pleasant, good walking and biking. Our only negative is the water depth. At low tide there is very little water below the keel, constant mud churned up by props and ingested by engines. Avoid low tide coming and going if possible. Marina reported they hope to have the basin dredged in 2026.

A big THANK YOU to all folks at Shelter Cove marina! We truly enjoyed your marina and everyone was so nice and helped us anytime we needed help. Very clean marina and close to restaurants and shops, all within walking distance. We will be back, for sure.

Great place to stay! Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Several good restaurants and bars right in the marina, and many more nearby. Groceries, beaches, charter services. airport, car rental, etc. are all close and very convenient.
The Marina is nice with great restaurants and shopping. If you need fuel, make sure that you call ahead for permission and don't get out of your boat at the fuel dock or the dock Nazi will get you!
