We have only been in the home for about 40 days. Not certain whether or not it would be a strong recommendation because we are still learning the components of the home, particularly with regard to quality. There are some items of concern that will be directed to the warranty department. HVAC - temperatures in rooms are not consistent. Stonework - areas of mortar that has fallen out. Dryer vent - not trimmed out with typical trim piece. Dishwasher - did not work when buyer took occupancy. Master toilet - incomplete flushing ... read more
Excellent experience. But was not allowed to pick my own grass or real fireplace. Could not chsnge 3 bedroom plan into a 2 bedroom plan.
After we did our final walk through, we closed on a house there was a sticky note on the shower door that said do not use 24 hours dated for 10 minutes prior to closing. They went in after the final walkthrough and we did not know it. It was left pretty rough, it could have been fixed up a little better.
I would encourage you to seek out Smith Douglas homes as they are well-made. Excellent quality and attention to detail. Their staff are skilled communicators and took the time to explain and resolve any issues.
