Get directionsThey know down to an art exactly what they can get away with, no matter how illegal. I was wrongfully committed because one nurse with no oversight or accountability to anyone (Megan) committed FRAUD on my intake assessment, citing "direct quotes" from me about plans to kill myself that directly contradict what my husband and I actually told her. She lied to my face about the counseling services it turns out they do NOT offer. She NEVER gave me the "mental health Miranda rights" speech about the possibility of involuntary co... read more
Staff mocking my son's condition. Not just one but numerous. He was in emergency mode of medication side effects And requesting medical attention. Spoke to house supervisor who guaranteed a call back after addressing it and never called back. Was told they don't give notes to each other when personnel change. No notes given to the morning supervisor so I was questioned about times and staff. (?!) another patient was allowed to approach him and tell him he was faking it on numerous occasions. Told this morning he would b... read more
I worked at Sonora in intake as a nurse. The patients were great, I loved every single one of them as behavioral health holds a special place in my heart. The treatment of these patients is absolutely horrifying. I would walk a patient down to their assigned unit based on their condition, very few techs and nurses would introduce themselves let alone acknowledge the patient's existence. I watched a doctor put his hand over a patient's nose AND mouth; last time I checked that wasn't an evidence based practice in trying to cal... read more
Please, think twice before calling for any assistance from this facility. Do not expect any kind of collaborative discussion about the reality of your loved one. Do not expect to have communication if the discharge date is changed. It realy doesn't matter how far you have driven or how you have had to rearrange your schedule, glad to think the nightmare will be over and you can get your loved one to a safe environment. "Sorry, I called once and you didn't pick up." Many people don't use their phone when they are driving... ... read more
Sonora deserves negative stars I was in the Madera unit 15 days against my will due to drug pushing scam artists like "Dr Diaz". I had a thc manic episode due to strong medicinal weed. I had no history of drug issues, violence, crime, family issues, etc. Not once was my situation cared about. They lump everyone into a box to simply charge & get their money. I was grieving, even showed Diaz their own info on the topic, yet all he could do was sneer & be an ass. He can fill out all paperwork & make all decisions, like a god. ... read more
Horrible! Do not send your kids there! My daughter needed help immediately and they said it'll have to wait until Monday because there's no Dr's in on the weekend. We had 1 phone call in 4days about her status, they left out vital info on check in/out procedures.she basically sat there for 4 days drawing & "sharing feelings " with no real psychiatric help. All they wanted to talk about is if we check her out of there we could have cps called if anything were to happen to her in our care.
I was on a 72-hour hold involuntary commitment which allows them to hold me but I have a legal right not to be treated. Sonora Behavioral Health inpatient drugged me and attempted brainwashing me without my consent they had me put in the ICU at Northwest Hospital and I am not even sick. They did this simply to try to divert me from using hospitals as I use the hospital once a month for emphysema medicine and this is my choice of healthcare. Access finds my health care choices so offending because they dont " CONTROL" my hea... read more
All I can say, is that my teenager come out of there more screwed up then when he went in. He told us that the kids figured out ways to pass notes to each other and get around the staff. He said the staff had no idea what the kids were getting away with. He said he was given information by the staff on things he could do to limit parent rights once he got home. They also held our son hostage until we paid a deductible that was not approved by our health insurance provider.
DONT SEND YOUR KIDS! I took my daughter out when she witnessed one child strangle another on 3 separate occasions in 12 hours. I asked staff for an explanation and literally was told it was "school yard antics". When I picked my kid up, they asked me for tactics to make it safer because they were unsure how to make that happen (for real). I have worse stories (way worse) from other parents, but those aren't my stories to share.
