Get directionsHorrible! Do not send your kids there! My daughter needed help immediately and they said it'll have to wait until Monday because there's no Dr's in on the weekend. We had 1 phone call in 4days about her status, they left out vital info on check in/out procedures.she basically sat there for 4 days drawing & "sharing feelings " with no real psychiatric help. All they wanted to talk about is if we check her out of there we could have cps called if anything were to happen to her in our care.
I was on a 72-hour hold involuntary commitment which allows them to hold me but I have a legal right not to be treated. Sonora Behavioral Health inpatient drugged me and attempted brainwashing me without my consent they had me put in the ICU at Northwest Hospital and I am not even sick. They did this simply to try to divert me from using hospitals as I use the hospital once a month for emphysema medicine and this is my choice of healthcare. Access finds my health care choices so offending because they dont " CONTROL" my hea... read more
All I can say, is that my teenager come out of there more screwed up then when he went in. He told us that the kids figured out ways to pass notes to each other and get around the staff. He said the staff had no idea what the kids were getting away with. He said he was given information by the staff on things he could do to limit parent rights once he got home. They also held our son hostage until we paid a deductible that was not approved by our health insurance provider.
DONT SEND YOUR KIDS! I took my daughter out when she witnessed one child strangle another on 3 separate occasions in 12 hours. I asked staff for an explanation and literally was told it was "school yard antics". When I picked my kid up, they asked me for tactics to make it safer because they were unsure how to make that happen (for real). I have worse stories (way worse) from other parents, but those aren't my stories to share.
I had to be hospitalized there on twelve different occasions. Each time for my depression or suicide attempt. To start off when I would be taken into the main adolescent unit the staff working would usually say things like "your back again we thought we got rid of you" or "you must love to make a joke of illnesses." There were two specific staff members who would constantly try and get a patient to snap just so they could have one less kid to watch. One day when I was sitting in the corner on the floor one of the staff watch... read more
Well I can vouch for the crappy reviews this place gets. The psychiatrists there just dole out pills and don't listen to you about adverse side effects. I felt dizzy and out of it on the meds they gave me and the dr poo-pooed it saying it will go away. Well it hasn't. I was better of smoking mj! I'm ready to flush that crap. Also the so called therapy is a joke. A beast woman with no medical training at all conducted a session and me and fellow patients, ie prisoners, got her to admit she was reading a prepared script. She ... read more
After reading all this I'm afraid. My baby is there right now. Has been for 5 days! Now it all makes sense to me! OMG! I need to pick her up ASAP!
Before I rant, Let met just say that I am a 16 year old female. This is not a mental hospital. It is a prison. I am not exaggerating when I say that. I stayed here during the Summer for a week (Even though, it was only supposed to be "three days") for depression. This "hospital" made things worse compared to before I even got there. No scratch that. It made me realize how I should cherish things more. Cherish my family and nature and a pillow. Yes a pillow. The pillows that were there were literal sheets of paper. And the b... read more
This facility was such a living nightmare that just over a year later I still recall with horror the things I heard and saw there. I dove into survival mode and went with the flow to get out ASAP. I was there from Friday until Monday when a doctor finally came in and evaluated and discharged me. I actually felt like I was dropped in the middle of the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", Most of the staff were mean spirited, sarcastic and seemed to prefer to sit behind the desk and talk/laugh with each other. I did ... read more
