Get directionsI had to be hospitalized there on twelve different occasions. Each time for my depression or suicide attempt. To start off when I would be taken into the main adolescent unit the staff working would usually say things like "your back again we thought we got rid of you" or "you must love to make a joke of illnesses." There were two specific staff members who would constantly try and get a patient to snap just so they could have one less kid to watch. One day when I was sitting in the corner on the floor one of the staff watch... read more
Well I can vouch for the crappy reviews this place gets. The psychiatrists there just dole out pills and don't listen to you about adverse side effects. I felt dizzy and out of it on the meds they gave me and the dr poo-pooed it saying it will go away. Well it hasn't. I was better of smoking mj! I'm ready to flush that crap. Also the so called therapy is a joke. A beast woman with no medical training at all conducted a session and me and fellow patients, ie prisoners, got her to admit she was reading a prepared script. She ... read more
After reading all this I'm afraid. My baby is there right now. Has been for 5 days! Now it all makes sense to me! OMG! I need to pick her up ASAP!
Before I rant, Let met just say that I am a 16 year old female. This is not a mental hospital. It is a prison. I am not exaggerating when I say that. I stayed here during the Summer for a week (Even though, it was only supposed to be "three days") for depression. This "hospital" made things worse compared to before I even got there. No scratch that. It made me realize how I should cherish things more. Cherish my family and nature and a pillow. Yes a pillow. The pillows that were there were literal sheets of paper. And the b... read more
This facility was such a living nightmare that just over a year later I still recall with horror the things I heard and saw there. I dove into survival mode and went with the flow to get out ASAP. I was there from Friday until Monday when a doctor finally came in and evaluated and discharged me. I actually felt like I was dropped in the middle of the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", Most of the staff were mean spirited, sarcastic and seemed to prefer to sit behind the desk and talk/laugh with each other. I did ... read more
As a former patient here, I can't say I enjoy even giving this place a star at all. I was a patient there years ago and I was honestly better off traveling any length than landing in this place. I don't know where to begin because from day one there were issues and mostly thanks to the staff and their awful attitude in this job. The first night I came it was almost 10 PM, I had no idea of this place nor ever heard of it until transportation and my first introduction was telling me to go into my room so a nurse could inspec... read more
I wish I could give this negative stars as a review. I had the worst experience of my life. I had never been in a hospital like this before, and never do I EVER want to return to another one like it! And I was only there for 4 days! I was admitted to Sonora on Monday, at 8 in the morning. First, I was left alone in a room with a desk to fill out paperwork. No one stayed to explain what I was signing, and if I had been a flight risk, I could have easily left as the door to the room had been left open as well as the exit to th... read more
First of all, they don't have counselors/doctors. I went in on a Thursday night for detox and self harming and was out Tuesday afternoon. Met with a psychiatrist twice. Never got a chance to express how I was feeling. I mean, if you're in a mental hospital, clearly there's something that needs to be addressed. Secondly, a friend of mine in there was not ready to be discharged, and told them he was still suicidal, and they made him leave. That is not okay. They just pump you full of pills and watch you color coloring pages. S... read more
What a joke. Do not send your kids here. There is zero therapy. Dr.s call in drugs for the kids without even seeing them. It's a free for all with the kids. Your child will be exposed to and hear things from kids with addiction, kids in and out of Juvy and kids with other behavioral disorders. This is not good on their psyche. My daughter was there for 4 days and received 0 treatment. The staff there look like a joke. Even the "PA" looks like she's a possible addict. Can't take anything anyone there says seriously.
