Because she has Alzheimer's and COPD and chronic bronchitis and chronic phuemonia, I needed a facility to accommodate those needs, so that as she progressed with the Alzheimer's I wouldn't have to look for a whole new facility to accommodate her needs. Emeritus allowed her to move within the same facility to make life a little easier. That is really the reason why I picked them. I haven't been there yet, but my step mom says that everything is wonderful. They are taking good care of her and they seem to be accommodating. I don't think they do as well with communication, I have asked them to communicate and I don't see them doing that. It seems like they underestimated her care when they evaluated her in the hospital, and within the first week or so they raised the care charges, but Emeritus still seemed to fit best with our budget.
I thought everyone was too old there. Everybody was in wheelchairs. It was very pretty and clean but I just felt the people there were really old so my sister-in-law wouldn't have fit in there because she's only in her seventies. They recommended a sister property of theirs. They said it would be a much younger crowd and they were right. That was helpful.

Initially, I was very grateful to have found Pacifica Senior Living Sunrise, and their amazing team. [name removed] provided lots of help, patience and guidance in helping my Mom find the perfect new home. Beautifully decorated, and well-kept property and community. The community and residents are very warm and inviting. Then, I discovered mold in my mom’s apartment during the first week of October and promptly informed the maintenance team. I would not recommend Pacifica Senior Living Sunrise due to a serious mold issue in my mother’s apartment. While the staff was friendly and helpful, the management’s handling of the mold problem was unacceptable. Within weeks of moving my mother into what was supposed to be a “newly remodeled” apartment, she began experiencing alarming symptoms, including a runny nose, coughing, eye irritation, skin rashes, and overall discomfort. The facility is okay, cleanliness is fairly well, but my only complaint is she complains of not having hot water to take a shower a lot of the times. Also, the washer and dryer that she uses don't work very well. I know this for a fact because I have used/tried to do her laundry myself, but other than that yes I would recommend the facility. Staff is great most of them, and they do communicate well with me.

We had a terrible tour experience with Pacifica Senior Living Sunrise - we did not like this facility what so ever. When you walk in it just has that typical institutional/nursing home feel to it. You do not get a warm and fuzzy feeling at all. We walked out and knew right away this was not going to be the right fit.
