RecommendedOur cat had to have an emergency surgical procedure performed this morning! I was told at first it could be a 4-6hour wait time until they could look at my cat (which is common at vet hosp. Don’t know why people don’t know this. It’s just like a regular hospital) The staff worked so quickly and diligently with all their patients. We got there by 9am and home by noon. Our cat is doing great and recovering amazingly! Our story, unfortunately, has a sad ending for our sweet pet but the staff at this vet hospital were phenomenal during it. COVID procedures have made their job tough and when they told us it was a 6-8 hour wait for the emergency hospital we were upset. However, when a tech came out to asses our pet she quickly saw the true seriousness of the situation and that our pet was in pain. I had an emergency injury with my golden retriever so we rushed to them from Spanaway as they were the only ones who were available to take him. They took my boy over night & did an amazing job. I was called by both night shift & day shift docs & techs each day he was there for updates on his condition & health. They took such good care of him & were so kind & patient with me For the overnight care, X-rays, meds, anesthesia, surgery, the works - the price was unbelievably affordable! The wait time can be very long BUT they are wonderful. We had the most difficult choice to make assisting our dog with crossing the rainbow bridge and they were so supportive. The wood urn box was engraved with her name, we also received a clay paw imprint and locks of hair. I am forever greatful for thespecial attention they gave us during a very difficult time.

We just recently had the pleasure of going back to Sumner Vet after a 7 year break without pets. Our first visit back was to the ER. Despite the wait, which we knew would happen, this vet and all of their employees are still the most kind, and caring group. It is clear they care about the pets as much as we do and that they are doing their best in the middle of a pandemic. 1st time to Board my a li’l over 1 yr old Giant Schnauzer since we just recently moved to Auburn and they did a great job. Brady went home happy and groomer did a fabulous, fantastic job!! Posting pics on how our boy was before, we let his coat grew coz my kids wanted it until we had to shaved him coz he had matted hair but the previous groomer wasn’t able shave the ears so our boy looked like a Saluki instead of a GS but Sumner’s Vet Hospital was able to shaved and plucked his ears. On March 16th 2021 I called the office to discuss having my 17yr dog put to sleep, I could barley speak, as I was sobbing and the lady whom answered was so sweet and told me I can take my time, as she knows this was a very hard decision. I took my dog Lucky there to be seen by Steven a orthopedic surgeon when she got hit by a car there around 2009 and they preformed her surgery to save her life and she lived another 12yr after that.. the staff was so comforting and explained everything so well and was very compassionate an... read more

We lost our dog yesterday, she passed peacefully at home with her family around her. We had no idea it would be this soon but alas she knew it was her time. We have never experienced this process but SVH was right there, they were available for drop off immediately and were so kind and understanding. We called multiple places closer to home and they all said they’d call us back.
