We had a lovely meal. Portion sizes are generous, service was good but don't expect any banter with the staff although they are very accommodating to any special requests.

My friends and I had a nice meal at Thai Square before the theatre. The service is good and food arrives pretty quickly. We had plenty of time to get to the theatre. Food is good.
Really, really good food, exquisitely presented by delightful staff in lovely surroundings on Trafalgar Square at incredible value. What more's to say?!
Since Thai Square is more of a chain now, I wasn't expecting anything to the level of the small Thai places we normally go to. But we were proved wrong - the food was fresh and tasty. We had the Toptable set menu. The starters, in particular, were a cut above the standard "deep-fried everything" you would get in most oriental restaurants. A good selection of mains to choose from. This is a busy restaurant but they manage to give you efficient and very friendly service; nothing seems rushed. The coconut rice is to die for. I went with a vegan friend and there was a page and a half of dishes she could choose from. there was lots of lovely meat and fish dishes too. Thai décor - giant gold Buddha's, elegant lighting and a water feature in the lobby gives the restaurant an authentic feel and a beautiful backdrop for the meal.
Two diners had the £18.50 set menu. Mixed starters: each item was a wonderful example of its kind (spring rolls, fish cake things, Thai dumplings, satay). My friend had green curry, which I tasted, and was a very nice green curry. I had stirfry beef w/ chilli and basil, and that was lovely too. We chose Thai Square as it was close to Horseguards Parade where we were attanding Beating Retreat. We chose the Set Silver menu which was excellent value. The service efficient & courteous and the food delicious. I would recommend this restaurant!
Had a dinner for 2 late, starting at 10pm. Staff were very attentive and courteous, food was excellent as usual. Recommended.
