About The Chef My name is Paul Friedman and I like to think of myself as just an ordinary guy who has had a lifetime love affair with food and the fortune of having owned and operated 58 restaurants in South Africa, Europe and the United States. I grew up in what was known as the Transvaal province of South Africa, they called it the land of the Xhosas, one of the major ethnic tribes in this part of Africa. My husband and I LOVE The Chef's Table! We have a house in Spring and another out of state. The past 3 years, we've been more at the other house so end up eating here several times while we are in town. Chef Paul continues to add the most incredible new dishes to the menu! We tried most dishes and have loved them all! And dessert is a must! Highly recommend the flavors here!

Interesting and eclectic menu including some amazing South African wines. Having lived in Botswana and frequently traveled to South Africa it was very nostalgic having the Biltong (similar to American jerky) and Boerworst (South African style sausage). I ordered the Durban Chicken which was delicious and definitely represented the effect of Indian culture in South Africa with its curried rice. This is a five star experience through and through.The timing of the food and Courtney’s customer service was spot on. Never did we run out of wine 😉 For wine lovers, they have a non pesticide amazing South African brand that you have to try! No headaches! We did an eight course meal and I absolutely cannot pick my favorite. Their menu is constantly updated and once a month it’s like a huge party where everybody is trying all the new yummies. First time, but definitely not the last! We opted for a “tapas” night, sharing three appetizers and enjoying a cup of fabulous matza ball soup. That left us room for two desserts and delicious coffee. Everything was spot on. Amazing!

Absolutely amazing. The flavors were perfect and all put together extremely well. We took our son here for his 18th Birthday as he'll soon be graduating and going off to Culinary School. I searched for the perfect place for him to experience a Culinary experience and landed at the Chef's Table. We are so glad we did as it definitely exceeded our expectations. Even the mushrooms were so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Amazing job, Chef!
