The cancellation process was very organized, with help from two on-site employees. (I had an issue canceling with their billing partner, ABC Fitness - That is my only complaint here). However, the on-site employee manager straightened that out once he understood my situation which the previous employee told him. (This was taken care of within 24 hours!) Thank you again for your prompt responses and for helping me cancel my membership - you both made it very easy and stress-free after dealing with ABC Fitness directly.
Completely betrayed my trust with the contract. I'm taking them to small claims court.
I joined The Edge Fitness Club (********** ** location) in April 2025. At the time of signup, I was not clearly informed that the membership was a 12-month contract with extremely limited cancellation options. I was led to believe it was a cancel-anytime membership. First and foremost, I was not under any current contract when the following occurred. My bank issued me a new debit card that was being billed monthly by Edge Fitness. I was out of the State and figured I'd handle it when I got back. That's when I started receiving daily multiple calls from annoying salesmen regarding my account. This place is an absolute scam. I canceled my membership back in December 2024 but the manager at the time did not fully complete the cancellation. Since then I have had money removed from my account for yearly membership and monthly memberships. I kept calling trying to get this resolved for MONTHS. They refused to remove my bank account from my account. They kept stalling and never did the cancellation correctly until JUNE 2025. Now I am fighting to still get all my money back. I have several frustrations that are due to (according to the staff) corporate policy. In no particular order: 1. Membership is through an unresponsive, klunky software system. Once something goes wrong (in my case, a change to a different level of membership and dropping personal training), it will take many, many emails and discussions with staff to correct. 2. I threw up on the machine once and was forced to clean it because the cleaning lady wasn't available. Super gross. Summer was asking way too many personal questions. Please do yourself a favor and don't ask people where they work and live or expose your family secrets. I feel like I got violated around her. I'm done letting things slide at this disrespectful gym cause. She's a little unprofessional and too close for comfort, not to mention invasive. Don't know her at all, this is what I observed.
Beware! Requested a cancellation from this gym with a written doctors note and both times I sent in this request both times my request was rejected. Do not waste your money and time joining this gym because should you ever need to cancel it for any reason be prepared to get rejected, aggravated and frustrated. I've been going back and forth with them for 3 months now and still can't get this cancellation done with a PCP doctor's note and a sports medicine doctor note as well.
