Maybe it was my expectation that made this experience less enjoyable, but for me when I make a reservation for a place I expect a better experience. We were definitely overdressed for that turned out to be a diner style meal. The restaurant was dark with booths that were tattered. Space could definitely use an upgrade. Food was just OK... Very disappointed. We will not recommend or return.
I went to test the gumbos for possible catering need. If one is to name a restaurant after a food, it better provide that food exactly super! This place, not quite. The gumbo has no viscosity , no okra, too much pepper, fair sausage, ridiculously tiny inclusion of rice in small sticky sheets on the bottom of the bowl. System took our reservation. Took Uber to get to restaurant. Restaurant was closed.......
They were out of bread,
When we got to the restaurant it was closed. You should have let us know when we made a reservation that they were not open. We had employee who had to take an uber and was stuck there till they could get another ride. Not happy
Gumbo was not up to our expectations. Bloody Mary TOO HOT. Fried shrimp rubbery. Husband liked Alligator Bites. Manager kindly adjusted bill, so that’s something!
Honestly was very disappointed in the food. It was too “white” cajun. Boring flavor, skippy on the shrimp and meat and seasoning, and expensive for what it was. I doubt I’ll ever be back.
Everything was average—food, service, ambiance. Glad I tried it—won’t go back.
