Dad is now staying at The Hampton & Ashley Inn after staying with me and me taking direct care of him for years. I don't know that they are as meticulous in caring for every detail as I was, but they do a good job. Dad is very happy there. Every time I go there he is involved in the activities and having a good time. The food is really good as well. The director is terrific!
too expensive
This is a nice community, and our loved one seems happy here! It's always very clean, and the staff have all been friendly and professional. We haven't heard any complaints about the food (and knowing how picky my loved one can be that's a good sign!) All that being said, we do feel like they talked things up a bit too much during the sales process. It is a nice place, but after everything they said it wasn't quite what they promised.

Private pay only. A very nice place with good facilities. We liked what we saw. They only have semi-private rooms.
Director was great. Music every day - singalong. Roommates, and her roomie would have a dog visitor. No cats, yes, some men. People seemed a little lower-functioning than Mom is today. Place seemed a little too back (68 people). Great courtyard. Good energy, lots of care.
They took me for thousands of dollars for just 20 days. In my room, the TV and phone didn't work. The drapes on the window didn't work. There was a big bay window looking into the courtyard full of weeds, and they charged me for a courtyard view, which I wasn't aware of. If you told them to do something, you had to tell them 2-3 times. I had to have a blood draw, and they charged a considerable amount to bring someone in to do it. Very expensive!!!! Not worth it at all. They take all the money the old people have saved all their lives.
