After my mother passed there was no communication to the other staff. I had employees calling me to set up appointments after she passed. There was a lack of responsiveness.

The Heritage in Tomball is a nice facility and is well maintained. For the price you pay the food is horrible and keeps getting worse. They keep charging for things that are questionable. They charge a monthly fee for the emergency pendant. If a patient is self medicating they are now adding a $50 monthly fee to have medication refills delivered to the medication room to be delivered when they make their medication rounds. Mind you this is not a special trip. I feel that they are trying to nickel and dime their residents.

After much deliberation I moved my mom into The Heritage Tomball. It's a pretty building with a nice interior. The ladies at the desk are always nice and helpful. I would sit with my mom many times during lunch time. Some things I saw bothered me. Some of the wait staff are really rude to the community members. This place is horrible. Don't even think about housing a family member or friend at this home. My grandmother lived at The Heritage for two and a half years and they were constantly changing their story about what her rates for the next year would be. They didn't care at all about her financial situation and quoted her different rates than what they quoted other people. My Mom stayed at Heritage for four years at least. In the past 12 months, until we moved out in January, it has had many management problems, staff upset, management changes, home office trouble shooters, etc. Management has started to charge for every little amenity. I asked for a carpet clean on the renewal or our fifth year (I think) year. It was denied they were going to charge to clean the carpet. We had to move my mother to an another community, because she needed more care. This is a nice community with good people. The only issue I had was with the CEO. He does not care out the seniors in his community. They have a good staff, but the CEO was not a good experience.

The heritage Tomball had a hospital feel to it. The place was not welcoming. The room they showed us that my loved one would be in was down a long hallway far away from the dining room. The overall layout of the community was very confusing. The rooms looked like hospital rooms, it just was not what we were looking for.

I took a tour of the community and the person that assisted me with the tour was the janitor. The tour guide was not available. The janitor tried his best to accommodate me and was attentive. I however did not receive a proper tour of the community. I did not receive the information that should have been provided for me like activities offered and the meal plans.
