Poor service. Seated and waited for 10 minutes + several waitress walked by never greeted.
Don't bother. The place seems like it's 30 years old but it's new. Fairly empty on a Saturday evening, and we didn't get our appetizer until our food came citing that the kitchen was busy-there were barely 20 people in the entire place between the dining room and the bar area. Food was overall pretty bland. The fish and chips were ok. Good sized pieces of fish, steak fries were tasteless and the sauce was terrible. Fried pickles were decent. My Diet Coke didn't taste right. The waiter did ask once if we wanted more d... read more
Just went on Friday afternoon just now and was told to go away. Something about a computer issue and they did not want my business. Well ok, it'll be hard to come back. Could have figured something out and kept a customer. Kind of liked this place but it suffers from poor management and staffing. It will never be a place that I suggest again.
Food was okay. But Schnitzel size is all over the place, we got a small piece of schnitzel and didn't think much of it. Then as we were walking out, we saw another guy with a schnitzel at least twice the size. I understand variations in the sizes of ingredients, but a restaurant should serve a standard amount of food per portion if they charge the same price for it. Picture below.
Need traditional tarter sauce for the fish and chips. Big miss. The house made was not good. Heard many surrounding tables ask for traditional tartar sauce too. Manager said he'd try to get traditional sauce added. Won't be back for fish and chips with the current sauce. Don't make me bring my store bought bottle in to enjoy with your fish and chips.
We sat at the bar for an hour and got one round then were left to sit until we grabbed someone and asked for a check. We wanted to eat and stay but we were if ignored for the better part of an hour sitting at the bar.
Went here for dinner, decided to try the Fish & Chips, a pretty basic meal. The best thing on the plate was the Chips. Fish overcooked plus there was very little flavor. The menu says they use Haddock - I would question that. Haddock is very flavorful white fish - I call it the "daddy rabbit" for Fish & Chips. Service was very good. A bit loud but they are trying to emulate a British Pub, so that's ok.
No, no, no, just don't! I have tried to give this place a chance since Alamo heights, the Rim location, and now the Leon Springs location. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere are horrible! If you're into wasting your money and time, come to the Lion & Rose.
My husband and I had dinner at the Leon Springs location yesterday and we both got sick. We will not be dining there again.
