The food was great and we love the place, service was fine. If I had a complaint it would be that it took a while after we were sat to take drink order and while I was eating still they tried to take my plate. I had to explain I was still eating. But I still would recommend and we will be back.
Food was ok. Appetizers were good the lobster Won Tons were doughy sauces were average . seafood chowder was good . my husband got the French onion tasted like Manhattan clam chowder to him and he is a cook ..made up for that withbgis entree bountiful on the diavolo... I got the special surf n turf... Was alright steak wasn't done the way in had asked .. Was noisey as we were sat next to the bar .. Our server Sam was wonderful very attentive...
Outstanding food and service
We love going to The Oar, during the nicer months. It has an awesome outside area to eat right on the water. The food is always good and the staff friendly. It is nice during the colder months as well but we really like going here when it is warm out. The view is really nice and they usually have entertainment out on the deck on the weekends.

Popular restaurant and I found out why! The food and service were excellent. From drinks, through appetizers, dinner and dessert, our entire party was impressed. Can't wait to return...
Food and service were good. Will go back but not on a Friday night. Noise was way too loud.
I had the roast duck. It was two legs w/ thighs but no breast. You had no choice on how you wanted it cook. It came only one way which was slightly over cooked and dry. My wife had the scallops which were very good. We started with the tuna tartar and PEI mussels. Both were very nice. It was "steak night" Thursday and so very crowded and the service was a little slow. We arrived close to 7pm, had appetizers and entree only and didn't leave until 9:30. All in all it was a good experience.
We arrived before our time and were seated very quickly. Our table was inside looking out at the water. The noise level was very loud and it was difficult to have a conversation. We shared the baked clams appetizer. It was very bland except for an intense oregano flavor. The pork entree was just okay. The filet Mignon was cooked perfectly, but our baked potatoes were undercooked as well as the green beans in the vegetable medley. We were very disappointed.
