Let me tell you a little story. There was a man sent to The Pines for physical rehabilitation after a stint in the local hospital and it's ICU. His family who lived far away was pleased by the excellent reviews and pleasant photos. The family was very wrong. The man wasn't properly cared for. My mother has been here for around a month and a half. She has gone down hill so fast. She was living on her own with no problems. Things go missing from her room and their excuse is it must have been put in a different drawer. Those drawers must be in a different room, since my brother has gone there to visit and he looks for the items he just left the night before. Her call button is not answer in a timely matter. I don't even know where to start!!! They never answer the phones. So if you want to talk to your loved one good luck. When they do answer they put you on hold for 30 mintutes then disconnected.. On one my visit to see my mother.. she wanted to eat lunch outside. They said no problem. Exactly 24 hrs later we came and her tray still was sitting outside.. no big deal you think. First of all I dont even have a Yelp but I felt like I needed to make one due to this disturbing news I received from my aunt while she stayed at this facility. Amanda S who is a cna there from the information I gathered flicked my aunt in the head on several occasions when she was apparently in her words getting "fed up" with my aunt for whatever reason !!!!!!! My mom stayed there for a few months because of a difficult surgery. I think Stephanie G either dislikes her mother in law or may have no sense of smell and is blind. My mom is mentally fine and the whole time she was there said she wanted to die. This place is worse than you can imagine. The Pines has 3 beds in rooms that barely would fit two. If you have family members in need of short term rehab or long term elder care, don't send them here! My husband came here for rehab after two major surgeries and was treated like crap by two night time "so called" nurses! On the evening that he was brought in for rehab, he vomited all over himself because he didn't feel well. At the same time, he also had to urinate, but his urinal was full and no one came to empty it for him. If you love your family members, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE! I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. My father came here after a quadruple bypass and a lumbar fusion (w/in one week of each other). Shortly after arrival, he became ill and vomited on himself a few times. This place is bad. Low staff. Ombudsman called numerous times. Found my father lying with his head downward, his bed was saturated with urine and it had created a large puddle under the bed. We found out he had been laying there for 16 hours! They treat the patients with no respect. It's hard enough to get older and then get sicker, but to be treated like you are disposable and don't matter is despicable. The directors don't care either.
