I would just say that the transition to senior living is (usually) a very difficult and stressful process. Ours was complicated by my father's serious hospitalization right before him moving in to Boylston Place. The team at Boylston....the sales director to the director of memory care to the head of nursing....went above and beyond to make it a smooth transition. I can't say enough nice things about the efforts they went through. And the care and lifestyle he has enjoyed since moving in has been as impressive as his transit... read more
My sister moved in around two months ago. After helping her move in, I have only been back there one time. My impressions of the facility and the staff are favorable.
We chose The Residence at Boylston Place because of the familiar location and nearby for me, the responsible person for my friend; easy walk to lots of stores and restaurants; newly redecorated; seemed upscale compared to others we toured; food we sampled was good; friendly admin( but now four have left) Activities have decreased a lot. This is perhaps due to staff leaving and short-staffing. But I find it unsettling. Also I think there are still vacant apartments.
It’s been a great experience for my Mom. She has transitioned really well to this new arrangement. I am especially pleased with all the activities she does there. She is rather high functioning so she has a couple of others like her and therefore has formed friendships
I would certainly recommend The Residences to anyone who inquired. I was very pleased with the facility!
Sometimes the meals are great sometimes not very good. I don't know how to rate value for cost - to me the cost is exorbitant. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families depending on their needs and expectations. Also I've heard that the new head nurse is not nice
The facility (memory care section anyway) is brand new so everything is fresh and clean and new. The "apartments" (room with mini kitchenette) are good size.
My mother liked it much better than the other one we considered. I very highly recommend it.
Overall, we've had a good experience at The Residence at Boylston Place. However, there are some things that need improvement. My loved one is in a wheelchair, but his apartment is not wheelchair accessible. This has made things more difficult for him than necessary. For example, we had to remove the bathroom door, making it almost impossible for guests to use his restroom due to the lack of privacy. The food is inconsistent- sometimes it's great and sometimes it's poor. The aides are great. The communication with the family... read more
