The place is beautiful. Common areas are well kept. The apartments are nice but a little smaller than some I have seen elsewhere. Also, the place I am comparing it to had pull cords in both the living room and bedroom areas as well as the bathroom. Shores didn't have one in the living room. They also don't come with a seat in the shower. Cable is included, which is nice. We toured The Shores and it seemed like a very nice place. It would have been a contender, but I was looking at reviews online and this facility did not get very high ratings.

We have had a few issues along the time, however everything was resolved in a timely manner and they worked so well with us to get those issues resolved. The staff members have done a pretty good job given this past years circumstances and we have a really good rapport with the executive director, she has been great.

Favorite! It had more of an apartment feel, loved how social the community is, rooms were fantastic, loved that it included laundry. Price is slightly concerned though.

The Shores is hard to get a hold of to let me know how my grandmother is. I can check on my grandmother during business hours, it is after hours that is hard to get a hold. The low numbers are low for COVID, but they won't let her go outside. I had to ask for the rent to be lower, ins They aren't allowing my grandmother to go to dining room. She is also coupe up due to COVID-19. I feel like the residents are felling like prisoners due to no activities.

Comparatively, I have looked many places and I would say it looks great, but looks are deceiving, it is not what it appears to be. I have been very impressed with the caregivers. The caregivers are good and caring but stretched to the limited and they are understaffed. It is not a medical facility in any way, shape, or form. The important and specific communication from management to the families is non existent and ,in fact, they are unresponsive.
Explored all the assisted living facilities in and around Clear Lake, Texas. Selected The Shires for my mother. After three months as a resident, absolutely made the right selection.
What sticks out as positive is the friendliness of the staff. What sticks out as negative is the high staff turnover of the caregivers and the cost of the facility per level of care.

Positive feedback would be the weekday med techs who really care about their residents like they're family. The front desk staff is always kind, considerate and friendly. The dining room and cleaning staff are always wonderful too. We have had some real issues with weekend med techs who do not have the same attitude as the weekly staff. We currently do not have an executive director and have been through two in the past two years.
