Located in Northern California’s Mendocino County there is a skunk running through the redwood forest, but this isn’t any skunk, it’s the world famous Skunk Train. The California redwoods, pristine coastline, and award winning vineyards are all a part of the landscape of what makes Mendocino County such an amazing place and home to this 131-year-old train.

This trip has been on our bucket list for a couple of decades and you did not disappoint! We really enjoyed the crew and the overall experience. The trip to Northspur and back was interesting and the information provided over the loudspeaker as we traveled was helpful in order to understand the history of the train. Thank you for a very fun day!
Awesome. Enjoyed looked at the trees and nature.
We took the kids and grandkids (4 adults, 5 children, age 11 and under) on a wonderful Sunday in June on the trip from Willets to Northspur. Parking was right beside the depot. The employees were all absolutely wonderful, patient with the children's questions, at the ready for anything that was needed. The train was very clean and we were glad most the windows on both cars opened (remember, these are OLD rail cars!). Beautiful ride through a... read more

Great part of California history.
Camping at Noyo was an amazing experience. Adventurous train ride, wonderful camp location, kayaking, etc. added up to make a wonderful trip. Our group had 6 children between 3-7 years, and they loved the train ride, and camping at Noyo.
Nice ride. The kids enjoyed the displays in the adjacent Museum.
Best time machine you'll ever ride... back to the future with a working relic of the past... nice (y)
