Property transitioned to a new rental company after we booked. Despite being told they would still handle our stay they are not willing to help with simple things (empty propane tank) and continue to refer us to the new company. Destination Vacation is the company who now owns the property and is being very helpful even though they are not making any money on our stay since they do not have our contract. Be careful if you book through The Vacation Company.
Do not rent a Vacation Company property!! We made the mistake once and will not be repeating it. For $12,000/week we got a beautiful, spacious home with no air conditioning for almost 3 full days, 80 degree heat to sleep in at night, a filthy pool full of sand and several grilled hot dogs from previous renters that we ended up removing ourselves, and ants, ants, ants! I just spoke with Cheryl at the Vacation Company. I am a physician " a Covid hero " and have to cancel my reservation in July due to medical reasons. I was told despite 80 plus days notice I would be charged a $2600 reservation fee!!!!! This is despicable. I have used Destination Vacation in the past on Hilton Head and rented many other homes in the past.
