We are very disappointed in The Vacation Company. We booked a vacation rental on 9/10 and paid the required deposit immediately and signed all documents and emailed them back the next day. We searched high and low for weeks for the perfect property that had everything our group needed. Rhonda called us on 9/26 to notify us that the owners of this specific property need it for the exact dates that we booked and that our reservation would need to be canceled and could she offer us a different property. My family & I booked a vacation in Hilton head for a 6 night 7 day vacation. After being there for 48 hours there was a mandatory evacuation. We had no choice but to leave. We had a lady beating down our door telling us we need to leave the island as soon as possible so we packed up & drove 8 hours back home to Alabama. I paid over $1500 for this vacation. We booked 11 myrtle lane and the lack of response from Vacation Company in trying to get our pool cleaned that we have not been able to use since we arrived on Saturday. Promise after Promise have not provided a usable pool for our family. It is this lack of caring and service that will cause our family to never book through Vacation Company. We had booked a family vacation for a week at condo #335 in shorewood. The first day it was great until we woke up in the next morning and saw roaches in the kitchen. We called the company and they told us "someone will be out even though we just sprayed for them last week" so we waited around they came to spray and said to my dad "I guess you guys brought some friends with you?" We've forward a copy of your post to the HOA Property Manager's since they are the people that handle pest control, landscaping, maintenance of the exteriors, pools, etc. While we certainly do not appreciate the pest controls comments (no matter how funny they thought they were) it was not a humorous situation. Our stay here has been a waste of time and money, we are leaving out of here a day early due to to the broken elevator situation, since we have been here it has been broken, we are on the fourth floor and we dread carrying chairs, umbrellas and towels to the beach. There is no pantry space, shelves were filled with coffee cups (34), no cereal bowls and a refrigerator that is way small. Bathrooms could be from a Motel 6. View is spectacular though. Don't rent here, you have been warned.
Really poor customer service when issues arise. I understand mistakes happen but when no alternative solution is offered to a customer it leaves a lasting impression about the company and its people.
