Learn from my mistakes... ...too numerous to count. My little HL-2140 is as reliable a printer as I could ever desire -- so long as I feed it properly. Unfortunately, that's a lesson I'm still learning. I've tried every "compatible" toner cartridge you can imagine, and they've been uniformly awful. Well, NEVER AGAIN! Today I came to my senses, threw away another almost full "compatible" cartridge, and ordered three of these. Just tighten your belt a notch and buy the real thing. You won't regret it. And, by the way, that lit... read more

Wait, there's more ink in there! I've been using these cartridges for several years. They truly are "High Yield" and the fact that they're put out by the manufacturer means it won't void your printer's warranty. One piece of advice - as others have mentioned - is that if you cover the clear little view-port on the cartridge with a piece of black electrical tape, it'll trick the printer into thinking there's more ink left. I've gotten as much as four or five more months of printing out of a cartridge by doing this. And it's a... read more

Buy the OEM and save yourself a lot of trouble. I've tried a few "compatible" toner cartridges in the past with mixed results. Some worked great and some did not. I have never had any issues with OEM cartridges. Sure they cost more, but you can be certain that they will function flawlessly every time. If you are willing to roll the dice, then buy the cheaper "compatible" cartridges. If you are like me, you like to keep a spare on hand so you don't need to wait on shipping. Nothing stinks worse than putting in a new "compatib... read more
