We had a reservation for two made well in advance with a note that we were celebrating a 50th birthday. When we arrived the restaurant was mostly empty. They brought us to a table in a high traffic area right by the dessert cart and hostess table. We asked for a quieter/more private table and indicated one that was empty and asked about sitting there but they said that table was reserved and brought us to another table that was immediately next to the door to the kitchen which was at least as bad if not worse than the first ... read more

We loved Trattoria Dell Arte!! The entire staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of Prosecco while we waited for our table (which was ready for us early). John was our server and he gave us excellent attention and made it a fun night! The food was delicious, our server was so nice and friendly and he made spot-on recommendations in terms of wine to drink with our meal and other food selections. The chocolate mousse is delicious and very rich, it is a must share item as it is too much for one person to eat! Definitely want to eat here again when I'm in NYC.

Always a solid choice for trips to the City with family, friends or guests. This visit, we hosted business colleagues from California, and the family-style presentation of first course dishes kept the conversation lively. The quality of the food here, in our experience, is always high and there is something on the menu for the foodies as well as those with less adventuresome palettes. Service is attentive with an enjoyable NYC edge -- just the way we like it.
Food is delicious, service is friendly and prompt. This has become my new favorite restaurant right across the street from Carnegie Hall. Their pre-fixe lunch for $32 is excellent.
I had been to Trattoria many times when it first opened (then moved to the East Side) so it was great to go again years later and to experience the same fun atmosphere and good food. I was there for lunch and took advantage of the three course prix fixe. The price was reasonable and the service very good. A good value in Midtown near Central Park. My out of town guest loved it.
