Good location for pre or post theatre dinner. Do not think the high marks on Zagat are warranted. Maybe we visited on an off night because our food taste was bland and food presentation was dull. Quirky "body parts" ambience. Tables squeezed tightly together. Service was efficient but not relaxing.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. It's elegant, classy and sophisticated without being obnoxious! While it's fine dining and I always feel its necessary to "dress up" for an dining event at this restaurant, I know that anyone in jeans would be welcomed equally as well! The hospitality is so warm and comforting the moment you arrive till you leave, the service is top notch and the food is outrageously delicious! And....now there are many gluten free options, including the gluten free cannoli desert and macaroons!!!! I left ... read more
Restaurant takes care of you when you tell them you have tickets to a show at Carnegie Hall across the street. The chicken piccata was Excellent. Pasta dishes were good but not spectacular. Biggest disappointment was the appetizer table.Everything looks great, sounds wonderful but when they serve it, everything is at room temperature. Nothing was hot. Not sure if that's the way it was supposed to be or not so we let slide. Waiter was a guy named Andy. He was phenomenal! Excellent suggestion on the wine and he said to try the... read more
Water glasses were not clean. Requested replacement and our waiter was responsive. We then questioned the cleanliness of the cutlery and dishware.
We used to love coming to Trattoria dell Arte. The food is still exceptional but even with a reservation we waited too long to sit at our table; there was no place to stand and, in fact, someone fell trying to get out of the way of a waiter; the noise level was unreasonably high; and our food took an inordinate amount of time to arrive and our entrees didn’t arrive together so we had to wait to begin eating. Ultimately, an okay evening at what used to be a great place.
Good selection of wines by the glass, menu with variety nicely prepared.
Went twice in one week because we had events for things at Carnegie hall. Definitely the place to go if you are going to Carnegie Hall either before or after your event. Good solid drinks, nice wine list. This time we had pizza and shared the special appetizer fried artichokes. These were much better than the ones from he appetizer table. The pizza is excellent as long as you like thin crust. Thin to the point of cracker. Don't order it if that's not your style. We lucked into getting Andy again and he was awesome.
With another couple. Enjoyed by all
