Italian food for tourists walking around Times Square. Pasta is the only thing above average, but not stellar.
First visit a year ago with friend who regularly eats here. Was looking forward to taking my husband there...food from antipasto buffet all tasted "gluppy". Hot items were not anywhere warm... there were gratuitous pieces of the items chosen for pizza. All in all disappointed.....
the restaurant itself is well located and offers an inviting ambiance. However, the food was mediocre. Bread, for an Italian restaurant of its stature, was quite disappointing. Pasta with pesto sauce was bland. Fried artichoke hearts were prepared well, but as served, without an accompanying sauce, were without taste.
You cannot go wrong at Trattoria. The management and wait team are the best in NYC. The menu gives you many options so everyone has something they can eat. I had the soft shell crabs with green beans and roasted tomato which was outstanding and the ravioli pesto which was off the charts. My vegetarian friends love the selection from the antipasto bar.
Everything about our dining experience was incredible. Service was impeccable. House-made mozzarella was delicious. Perfect for pre-theater. Loved it!!!
We spent a week in NYC and actually ate here three times!!! The homemade meatballs and Sunday "gravy" were amazing, as were the sausage and peppers. The best and most unique part of dining here is the wonderful antipasto selection which you can pick 3-5 options!
This place is our new favorite in New York! We spent 4 days in New York and this was our last meal. I only wish we had made it sooner. My mother is about to have gall bladder surgery and has some very limiting dietary restrictions right now. She finally enjoyed a meal for the first time the whole trip. Kyle, our server, went above and beyond to make sure she had just as good of a time as the rest of us. He talked to the chef and figured out a dish she could eat that would be within her dietary restrictions. He even brought h... read more
This place continues to impress with consistently good food and outstanding service. The waiters know the menu and the wines really well. Once you become a regular, you probably won't pay for the introductory prosecco, the antipasti or the lemoncello. Many of the main dishes are large enough to share. So, a huge meal becomes a bargain for NY. Michael Buoni is one of the best waiters on the planet.
Server was great and suggested a lovely gluten free meal for my mom
