This was one of the best meals I have ever had. The reviews of this place completely live up to the quality. As we came in for lunch, the host was so friendly, more than I have ever seen in my life, especially for NYC. The bread was fantastic, and the parmesian panchetta scones!!! (after you eat). The 101 layer lasagna was to die for, all meat. basically if you do not go here you are missing out.
The chicken parm was amazing! Huge piece of beautifully pounded chicken, with pepperoni and dollops of ricotta cheese, a great twist! The 101 layer lasagna was lacking a bit of sauce but delicious. A great wine list too. We have been before and will go again! P.s. Their antipasto bar is huge go hungry !
This was second time iate here. Once again the staff were amazingly friendly and attentive. The food was again delivious. But i enjoyed the ambience in the back where i was last time better than in front despite the nice street view of Carnegie Hall. Still highly recommend this place
Our dining experience was beyond our expectations-from the food which was fresh and presented beautifully to the warmth of the welcome by the service staff and management. We felt like we "had come home"….attentive, friendly and professional staff made the meal even more enjoyable. The COOKIES were amazing-what a touch! Great, old school Italian. Can get a bit touristy (waiter was surprised that we were locals) and it gets people going to Carnegie Hall, but plenty of local actors/celebrities as well. Food is great and portions are generous to say the least. Service is great--very attentive and they always make you feel special. Waiter brought a free slice of cake and some limoncello when he overheard my daughter talking to my wife about it being her birthday. We had been referred to this restaurant and are greatful to our friends for the reference, The menu is varied, the veal marsala was ever so tasty, the service excellent, the staff and maitre'd were friendly and caring and the total experience was delightful.
The gentleman at the welcome desk smiled and shook our hand. So warm and kind. The pizza! Heavenly. So delicious.
Love it that they are open late. We like to eat late and they are extremely friendly and the food is excellent.
