We were seated in the back room along with several (also) older couples and had a lovely brunch and although we asked several times for the level of light to be raised we were not accommodated. Otherwise, the service from Lauren was warm and delightful and the food was tasty.

We first celebrated a family occasion here about ten years ago and it was memorable wrt the friendly service and the quality of the food. Ever since when we have the occasion to visit New York from our home in Ct. we try to get back here and we are never disappointed. We are always greeted in a friendly manner that makes us feel like regulars. The food is always good with incredible portions. I especially like the antipasto bar.It can be a busy place but I feel in a nice, and friendly way. The menu has a wide assortment so t... read more

I've been a dozen times over the last few years and the experience is amazing each time. Great energy, management, service is extraordinary. The food...unbelievable. The Veal Parm might be the best on planet earth. Bone in, and the size of the table it is served on. The mozzarella is exquisite...to die for. Wine selection very good. The manager is a delight, friendly, very welcoming and the energy is great. Don't be surprised if you see a celebrity at one of the tables...always packed. Great place to eat before Carnegie Hall... read more

Have been dining at Trattoria Dell' Arte on and off for 15 years, my family and I and my business associates have always loved the atmosphere ( friendly, vibrant, energetic) as well as the wonderful service however, it seems that the quality of food /preparation has dropped considerably. You get the sense that a new chef attempted to put their own touch on existing dishes, and in the process downgraded the quality. For instance; their signature dish is a yellow fin tuna steak which in the past was seared with herbs and serve... read more

Got a great table near the window. Server was friendly and attentive. Heard so much about how great the food was before going there. Bar was fun and hopping. Got seated earlier than our open table reservation which was nice. The downfall was that we both ordered the veal special and my husband's was fresh and hot when it came out. Mine was hard dried out and cold. Almost like it had been sitting on a counter somewhere and reheated to the point of being unedible. At first I thought it might be just a fluke bad piece of veal b... read more

It is a huge place, multi-level, and very crowded. It is near a lot of theaters, so i assume that is why. The staff is very good, very nice considering how many customers they have. But I found the food mediocre and it took a very long time to get served our main course, which made it a little tense since we had tickets to a play. I can't say anything bad, but it's pretty expensive and I felt a little as though I was in a pleasant factory. An option for eating in the area. Might be better on a weeknight when there is less cha... read more

It's still absolutely wonderful. The antipasti are always amazing and fun to share. If I lived nearby, I'd be there every day.

This place has THE BEST chicken and veal parm ever!!! But i warn you - its MASSIVE and should be split with a dinner mate or you'll be taking home leftovers. The pasta was fresh. Service was great. We'd go back.
