The best way to get to Carnegie Hall is by first having dinner at Trattoria Dell'Arte, which is right across the street. Start off with the three-vegetables appetizer, each portion of three enough for two people to share. We were fortunate to have dinner there recently during the short season for soft-shell crabs, so when we heard that soft-shell crabs was a "special" that evening, we closed our menus and looked no further. The waiter described the crabs as being small, but to us they were ENORMOUS and ENORMOUSLY DELICIOUS, ... read more

This was the best Italian restaurant to which I have ever been. I am Italian, and am very picky on Italian food. Many Italian restaurants add too much garlic to their food and it overpowers it. This restaurant was not garlicky at all. There were 4 of us, and I tried all the different things we all ordered, and they were all excellent. The meat sauce is perfect, their lobster risotto was awesome, the veal parmigiano was huge and very good. The service was great - we loved everything about it. I will definitely come back every... read more

A friend and I were visiting Manhattan and went to Trattoria Dell'Arte for dinner. It was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding! It was so good, we went back for lunch two days later

Food was very good. Service was a little slow but as we sat outside that may have added a small delay. Overall - good place to go to.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in NYC. I go at least once on every trip I make to NY. I also have family in the area and we meet up here - whether its one or 6 of us. We love eating at the bar but many folks know about that and hard to get more than 2 seats. My latest find - ask for the wine room. A bit more intimate - we really enjoyed the space. We are thinking it would be perfect for a smallish private affair as well. The menu is FAB and never disappoints. Our favorites - beet salad, the pepperoni and arugula pizza... read more

This resturant was recommended by concierge at our hotel.. (we stayed in the Columbus Circle area). So glad that he did! There are so many Italian resturants in the city and we have tried quite a few, , but this one was especially good. The food was wonderful and the service superb. They will assure that you get to the concert on time. Very efficient and friendly staff. I always try the Branzino wherever I go.. this one had a great flavor.. stuffed with some rosemary and lemon. the portion was substantial and though not file... read more

Tremendous Italian dishes and the flat pizza is a great app. Service with a smile and terrific food. All four of us enjoyed the experience.

A greeting with a smile is how you start your dining experience at Trattoria dell'Arte. As our table was almost ready, my husband and I were handed glasses of Prosecco for the wait. Once seated we chose appetizers and entrees: a straccietal chicken soup with a poached egg , an heirloom carprese salad, spinach pappardelle , and a pasta carbonara . For dessert, we shared a Tartuffo and tea. Our service was excellent as usual. We have eaten here before and each time have enjoyed our choices from the menu.
