Delish and authentic!
Over the years whenever we are in NYC we have eaten dinner here and they have always been wonderful. This time it was disappointing. I always have the veal chop and enjoyed it. However this time it came to the table not hot, and it was tough and tasteless. The beet salad was not very good and the crispy artichokes also disappointed us. Sad to say , we may have to find another Italian restaurant for our next visit.
If you like to complain, don't come here. The food is delicious, fresh, well-prepared, and beautiful to the eye. The wines are a perfect complement. The service is attentive and unobtrusive; you set the pace, not the staff. The main room is peaceful and elegant. Eating here is like taking a short, satisfying vacation.
Perfect for my serious business lunch -- quiet corner, unobtrusive service and of course delicious food. Even management's freebie offerings of freshly-baked prosciutto muffins then, later; chocolate chip cookies were welcome and appreciated.
I had lobster carbonara and my friend had seared scallops. "Oh my!" and "So good" were said multiple times during our meal. The ambiance was comfortable and elegant. I'd definitely eat there again!
We had great service and food was excellent. The chicken pepperoni pizzialo is fantastic!
We came for a festive occasion with seven people. It was a little noisy and our table was in a heavy traffic-flow area, even though I requested a quieter table. The service was a bit uneven, but the waiter gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco for making us wait, which was nice. The food was mostly delicious, especially the lobster carbonara and the soft shell crabs.
One of my "must visits" when I'm in NYC. Have dined here for years and always recommend it to friends. Love its neighborhood feel and the food is fantastic.
Our group had reservations very early, for supper before a 7:00pm show. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived and we were ready to order quickly. We ordered wine, a sampler of six appetizers, four main dishes, and four desserts. All of the food was nicely prepared and quite yummy. The downside was that our waiter forgot to bring the appetizers until after the main dishes had been served. As a result, we sat for quite a while sipping our water and wine, waiting for food, and ended up not having time to finish before... read more
