Great place with excellent food. Atmohere is lud so not conducive to quiet conversation.
Service was great as always with the most pleasant if staff. Packed and vibrant as usual. Sadly however, the food and presentation were really down a notch. Not disappointing just not up to former standards.
As a Prelude to Carnegie or o City Center or as their postlude, there is something comforting about a restaurant that will consistently deliver good food, attentive and solicitous service, never intrusive and always smiling, accommodating and with an excellent vibe. The menu has few surprises, the antipasti are done with great care and simplicity with excellent results, fish, fowl and beef done to perfection without any pretension or artifice. Great ambience and vibe!
I dined at Trattoria Dell'Arte several years ago so chose it as a place for Sunday nite dinner while on a business visit. Opportunity. Unfortunately, service was slow to the point we were feeling ignored. The margarita flatbread was very nice however, I have never had a caprese salad with shredded mozzerella. Odd. Also, thought the awning out front now detracted from being able to see the large nose in the upper window. Trattoria is always our first stop when visiting NYC. Every meal is perfect every time.
We had our rehearsal dinner here 1 year ago, came back for our 1 year rehearsal dinner anniversary. Cannot overstate how much we like this restaurant. Excellent.

Friendly, warm, welcoming, courteous service, from the moment you walk through the door. Service is quick, food presentation appealing, Of course it's very convenient for anyone attencing events at Carnegie Hall, right across the street. No waiting, whether to be seated, have your order taken, food delievered, check ready when you are ready. I'd make it a regular for dinner whenever I'm going to Carnegie Hall. I should also note, and praise the restaurant, for having and identifying vegetarian offerings on the menu.
Usually a better experience but this visit did not meet our expectations. FooD was okay but poor service and wait time left much to be desired.
