great Italian food! Everyone loved everything...and, we found it especially inviting when the maitre D walked around at the end of our meal with a fresh tray of warm, baked (yummy) chocolate chip cookies. We will definitely go there again!
While I have been supping at Trattoria for over 20 years, I hadn't been there in the last 3 or 4 years. What a pleasure it was to be recognized by my previous 'favorite' servers! And made to feel as if I had returned home ... Dinner at Trattoria Del Arte was superior; the food was delicious and plentiful. The antipasto bar remains abbondante, fresh and delicious. The pasta ... divine .... What a popular spot! I had forgotten how wonderful and eclectic their atmosphere is; I enjoyed the people watching enormously! I won't be ... read more
reservation was honored and we were seated quickly even though we arrived 15 minutes early for reservation. However, as restaurant got more crowded (within 10-15 minutes), we couldn't hear ourselves talk because it was so noisy. Where we were seated, tables were too close together also. Food was good and service was good.
Experience was great. Food was delicious, with no complaints - save perhaps cross-table jealousy. The server was a bit strange in his joking and answering of menu questions, but nothing overly-deleterious to the overall dining experience.

The wife had a cup of Tuscan vegetable soup and a half-order of pasta and both were wonderful. I had a wide noodle pasta with seafood in a white wine sauce. It also was delicious but could have been improved with more seafood. With a bottle of a craft beer, our bill came to $62 so budget diners should look elsewhere. We asked to s... read more
great antipasto as always. decor is kooky as always. service first rate.
It's a favorite. Couldn't say how many times we've eaten there and never been disappointed....and everyone we've sent there agrees!
You know, for all its location and Carnegie Hall/City Center inflated prices, this place provides excellent food and a well-curated wine list for us hungry pre-culture mavens. The service is just a touch too casual for my taste ("Hey guys, how ya doin'?" to 2 women), but things are well executed. It's hard to be too judgmental when they come by with a huge cookie sheet and spatula a chocolate chip onto your coffee saucer, I guess. Still, with pizzas topping out at $45, I want just a little more formality to go with my meal; ... read more
This was a preCarnegie hall dinner which I expected to be lame. Was I wrong! Tge food was superb. Antipasti were fresh and varied, pastas were al dente and unusual. Portions are large. Dessert was also oustanding. We'll be back!
