Fresh Italian food. I am told this place has the best sausage, and judging by the frequency my parents buy it, i'd say so (it sure smells amazing!). It's moderately priced and you can find all the Italian and European delicacies you would have trouble finding in most general supermarkets. A wealth of sauces, cheeses, fresh pastas, stuffed and unstuffed olives, olive oils. sundried tomatoes and the like. I find this place particularly healpful when cooking a full meal is the last thing I feel like doing and they have a wide a... read more
Produce is fresh as well as meats, chicken, cheese and other traditional Italian goodies for one's home cooking needs. As a cookie monster I always have to check out the junk food aisle of sweets and cookies. The cookies selection is well-stocked as well as imported brand names from Italy. Service is somewhat attentive, thus four stars. Uncle Giuseppe is everyone's uncle in the hood.

The only place to get decent (ripe, not overripe, not underripe) produce in East Meadow. And, if you don't find the vegetables you need to make dinner, you can get Chinese/Thai/Sushi at a nice place in the same shopping center.

My favorite stop for home cooking (especially when firing up the bbq). Quite a few must not miss choices: From the butcher in back (ask for Carl): the marinated skirt steak, the five cheese stuffed burgers, the Italian chicken (ask for the cherry peppers) and the marinated lamb kabobs; From the deli: the chicken, mozzarella and roasted pepper hero. Usually have good sales each week too.

bought a bakery item yesterday and it had mold on it today (tomato and onion focacci). $5.99. Bought strawberries as well X 2 at $7.99 each. Mushy and moldy today. Two lobster tails and the chantily cream was sour. wasted $40. will not return.
